The Ottobar

4.5

About this business

The hippest place in Baltimore to see an alternative rock band is this scruffy, but chic, midtown establishment. The bar itself is very small, so many patrons stand or sit in front of the tiny stage, or wander around the multi-colored second and third floors. The bands are either unsigned locals or independent-label acts. All play loud and fast.

Disgraceful. It's a scary place we live in when men can manhandle womxn just for being womxn.

y'all i literally had to stop taking estrogen bc i had dangerously high levels of it in my body but you know what's not dangerous? a staff that looks out for it's community instead of catering to white fragility. I don't always go to the ottobar, but when I do go I don't have to worry about being attacked for my gender unlike people who have built a career attacking people for their gender.

You could improve by not removing lesbians and not being aggressive towards women. Appalling.

This place isn’t safe for lesbians who know that women are female. I know this because my good friend and her companion were manhandled and forced out last night.

if you're down with homophobia this is the spot for you... also like intimidation and accusatory statements thrown at you for being a lesbian while just trying to have a nice time? than this is the spot for you... but seriously who would want to patronize such an establishment?

I’ve spent half my life going to some of my favorite shows downstairs at this venue and had countless amazing nights upstairs. One of the best places for punk shows on the east coast. Also, high five on taking a hard stance against TERFs. 🖤

The bar is unwelcoming to lesbians and women who have differing opinions than the bar owners. You dont have to voice them or do anything at the actual bar. A social media post is apparently enough to warrant men manhandling you and forcing you to leave.
