Room lighting was a little iffy. Well decorated. Outlets the minimum for charging devices? Water in the room a couple of breakfast options available with a meal. Hotel was unavailable from the street until four p m, fact that no one communicated to us, Nor did anyone advise to pull into one of the upper street parking lots and walked down and Sort out how baggage would get there. Absolutely wonderful - took in two weary travellers and were generous with time and service. My train fell over at Abergavenny because it was raining a bit, and as a consequence after several hours another chap and I travelling to a similar location joined forces and tried to book a taxi together. The food festival was in town, and so, failing to find a taxi available, we tried the hotels. Have had lunch twice now at the Kings Head and have been really pleased with both the service and the food
Our stay at The Kings Head was.... adequate! The location in town was great ( only a 10 minute walk from the train station), the room was clean and the breakfast and breakfast staff top notch. However the welcome on check in although polite was not overly warm and friendly and the room was very tired, and would benefit from new decor and the old 80's furniture replacing.
