The Kings Contrivance Restaurant is located on what was a 370-acre farm granted in 1730 by The Lord Baltimore to The Reverend James Macgill. A stately Federal Period mansion was built on the present site. It burned to the ground and was rebuilt in the late 1890's. The residence remained in the Macgill family until the 1960's, when it was converted into its present form as a fine dining restaurant. Service was excellent and food was exceptional! I brought my wife here after a very quick search of upscale restaurants in the Columbia area. She was pleased and so was I. We will definitely come back!
We were there for a wedding. It went off well. Rain held off. It was a great time!
This place never disappoints. The food, drinks, and staff are awesome. I also wanted to give a special Thank-you to the staff member who came out and rescued us with a jump when I left the lights on in the vehicle on my boyfriend's birthday!

We have been going to King's Contrivance for over 10 years and they never disappoint. I can honestly say everyone there treats us like family. Richard is amazing and so is Maryanne. We had an amazing brunch.
