The Kings Contrivance Restaurant is located on what was a 370-acre farm granted in 1730 by The Lord Baltimore to The Reverend James Macgill. A stately Federal Period mansion was built on the present site. It burned to the ground and was rebuilt in the late 1890's. The residence remained in the Macgill family until the 1960's, when it was converted into its present form as a fine dining restaurant. Our food was excellent. Had clams casino, fried oysters, Neptune salad & angel hair pasta with shrimp. It is very pricey, but good. Very nice ambience.

Best fine dining restaurant open on the east coast. Truly an elegant setting with exquisite cuisine. Richard, the Maître D' is incredibly friendly and a real wine expert. Highly recommended.
The food is well prepared. I love the setting and you know it is a great Resturant when you drive 1:45 minutes one way to enjoy Sunday brunch.
Food was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. Crab cakes were the best!
