The Kings Contrivance Restaurant is located on what was a 370-acre farm granted in 1730 by The Lord Baltimore to The Reverend James Macgill. A stately Federal Period mansion was built on the present site. It burned to the ground and was rebuilt in the late 1890's. The residence remained in the Macgill family until the 1960's, when it was converted into its present form as a fine dining restaurant. RecommendedFood was absolutely delicious and well worth the price. Crab cakes were the best!
We always have a great time and enjoy great food here. We were the first table seated and there last to leave and that just from good food and conversation, no alcohol. This place continues to be a reliable place for getting together with excellent t service. We loved Sharon our waitress and host was delightful.
A wonderful restaurant, service was fantastic, they didn’t rush you , and you could spend as much time as you wanted to enjoy this experience. Food was fabulous!
Loved everything, the atmosphere was beautiful, lovely Christmas decorations. Our waitress was great, the stuff lobster was out of this world. We’ll be back !
Great fried oysters. Huge crab cakes....all crab no filler....topped off by key lime pie with coconut ice cream (very good). Nice ambiance. All good....except the bus boy who took the coffee cups and dessert utensils when clearing the main course. All in all.....Nice evening.......very good food.

I can't believe that I've never been here. Very nice restaurant with great food and an "old school" look. Historic mansion with very nice furnishings. I had the "fish of the day" Flounder stuffed with Crabmeat. Very good!! Looking forward to coming back.
First timer. I heard great things about the place beforehand. The wife and I got the beef tips and duck. The food was ok. It wad not bad, but it was not memorable. A day later and I cannot tell you what the duck taste like, other than sweet. (Le Diplomat's duck is exponentially better). The cake slices are on the small side.
