The Kings Contrivance Restaurant is located on what was a 370-acre farm granted in 1730 by The Lord Baltimore to The Reverend James Macgill. A stately Federal Period mansion was built on the present site. It burned to the ground and was rebuilt in the late 1890's. The residence remained in the Macgill family until the 1960's, when it was converted into its present form as a fine dining restaurant. Thanksgiving was great. Probably the busiest time of the year. The staff were very nice. Everything was cooked to perfection. I had the Chilean sea bass with risotto. The key lime pie was delicious as well.
We had a lovely time here. The food was excellent and everyone was very friendly. This place is a landmark in Howard County Md. I love the old mansion atmosphere and the flower gardens outside the windows. You feel as though you are transported to a different time period when you walk into the restaurant😊
