Good food changing menu, best corn chowder, steak Deburgo and pulled pork wraps
The Iowa Stater is one of Ames best kept secrets. Amazing burger....many other great favorites including pork tacos! Never has a bad dish yet. I could go on...but just go check them out.
Stopped on the way home from a Staycation in Des Moines for a quick lunch on a Sunday. Still fairly quick service for a College building/hotel restaurant and decent bang for the buck! Got the House Ground Sirloin with Bacon and Blue Cheese. Very Good! Wife seemed to enjoy her Omlet, though she did feel the Hashbrowns were not up to standard. We would stop again to check out the Breakfast Buffet!
Terrible in every way. We met family staying at The Gateway for a post-Thanksgiving brunch at The Iowa Stater. There were two other tables occupied and then our group of 9. We waited one hour for food to arrive to our table. When it finally came, most of the food was room temperature. The waiter apologized. I had ordered French toast, as did my eldest daughter.
