The service we received tonight was amazing!! We all enjoyed our food my steak was perfect. I will be recommending The Iowa Stater to everyone and be back for another meal!

Amazing food, amazing service! Really classy yet casual. I love this place
My husband and I ate at the Iowa Stater tonight, actually we are at the Gateway all weekend. Being Christmas weekend and wanting a nice quiet atmosphere to rest from being with the grandkiddos, we were thrilled to have awesome customer service and great food to begin our relaxing night. Can't wait till tomorrow to visit with the wonderful staff!

The menu was understandable and varied. The facility itself was clean and had a great ambiance. The staff were gracious and helpful. The cost for this fine evening of dining and conversation was very reasonable. We don't go out often but when guests come to town we will depend upon the Iowa Stater to supply us with a fine dining experience.
Thrilled to find the emphasis on local products here. Milton Creamery's Prairie Breeze cheddar is my favorite cheese ever. Their bacon cheeseburger with Prairie Breeze and caramelized bacon is awesome! As is their prairie breeze Mac and cheese!
Best burger I've had in awhile! Cooked to perfection (well done for me!). Waitstaff were all very friendly and accommodating. I'll be back next time I'm in Ames!
