The location is wonderful - it’s peaceful, lots of walks around, a good pub, lakes, on bus route. There is a lot to explore and perfect if you don’t want to drive whilst on holiday. The admin side needs a bit of improvement though. We didn’t get any information before our arrival and there is no one on site so we had to work out where to park, which hut was allocated to us, there was no map of the grounds printed out which is essential so we had to look it up. We have had an amazing long weekend break at The Herdwick Huts and loved our yoga retreat with the wonderful Sarah. If i could give more than 5 stars, i would. The area is stunning and the accommodation is perfectly in tune with the environment. The yoga was the best we've every experienced. Highly recommended, can't wait to go back.
Had a lovely week break in Blea hut with my husband and dog and it was perfect. Well located and well stocked with everything we needed. The little stove was much appreciated as the temperature dropped and made it a very cost little hut.
Really enjoyed our 3 night stay. Beautiful huts, really well equipped. Loved being able to sit by the fire outside, watching the stars. Peaceful location, and great to not need the car. Walked to Ambleside and Grasmere, and lots of other great walks to explore. Shower amenities first class, just a couple of minutes walk away. And a cafe and bar on site. Brilliant for a relaxing break. Thank you.
Liked: Well appointed shepherds hut with wood burning stove and a gas hob for cooking. Very cosy and comfortable, we had a lovely stay. Disliked: The shower facilities were quite far away but not too much of a problem.
