I went for a scalp scan expecting a 30-minute appointment, but was in and out in 10 minutes. The scan was done on a very small section of my scalp. I was told I had telogen effluvium and advised to get a blood test, with the assumption that low ferritin was the cause of my hair not growing. They recommended a specific brand of iron supplements, which I took, only to find my ferritin levels dropped further.
