The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

RecommendedFirst time there, but going back. Good food, nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. what more could a person ask for?!!
We went yesterday for lunch waited hour and a half for meal. Looked short staffed . Our friends went last night for dinner and said the service was great.

Large drinks at a very reasonable price. Large food portion sizes. Really neat atmosphere and good service.
Food is great, but it took over 25 minutes to get wing and a sandwich at noon time. The place did not look busy.
