The Great Lost Bear has become a Portland institution since opening in 1979. The "Bear" is located about two miles from Portland's touristy Old Port but well worth the journey across town to the Mysterious Woodford's Area. The Great Lost Bear features an enormous eclectic menu with something for everyone: from hearty, spicy junk food to a large vegetarian selection, from steaks, salads and All American Burgers to award winning, wicked gooey desserts... all served in an entertaining atmosphere.

Lots of good food AND dock options. Fun atmosphere.
As always, great atmosphere, excellent selection of craft beers, and good food. A classic Portland restaurant/ pub.
Went for lunch yesterday. I haven't been in for a while. Food and service was great but what I was most happy about was that GLB switched to paper straws. Thank you for getting rid of plastic straws. I am a beach comber and see the destruction that plastic straws cause to our ocean and wildlife. Thank you for leading the way!!
My server (Andrea) was awesome!! Came in for birthday grub before a baseball game and the food was as amazing as the atmosphere. I’ll definitely be coming back.
I was looking for a local place to grab a quick beer and be on my way when I happened into the Great Lost Bear. I'm glad I did the local draft beer selection was so extensive, the menu listed them by variety. I found a few I had never tried, that I really enjoyed. I had an order of Cajun wings to tide me over. They were WHOLE wings crispy and encrusted with spice and they were delicious. The menu included barbecue, Mexican Asian, more than just bar food. Next time I'll try dinner.

Waitress was awesome food was great and the staff were friendly even helped with a few hints for our girls to find the unicorn 🦄
