Didn’t stay, only went for a meal, but the food was absolutely delicious with really big portions (we couldn’t even finish the food - and I’m normally a compulsive plate cleaner!) which made it absolutely worth the price. Ontop of that the staff were very kind and accommodating, and the dining areas themselves are gorgeous. Would absolutely recommend even just for going out for a meal!
One of our favourites to visit when in this neck of the lakes. Quirky and characterful and always friendly service. Toilets are an experience of their own too! If I were you I’d be badgering your friends to meet you here.
Excellent place for a meal, great location, friendly staff and great food
We popped on for a beer after a walk. Glad we did. The staff are polite and friendly, The is a cosy place to unwind after a day in the hills all though the bar is small they have a good selection of local beer which is kept well. We decided to book a table for food that evening. The food, well they don’t hold back on portion sizes. I chose a wild boar burger from the specials menu which came with chunky chips and onion rings. Visited after a long walk and the bar has a great collection of local cask ales. The food was also amazing and I have to say this was one of the best pub atmospheres I have ever experienced (large number of veggie options too). All of the staff were extremely kind, attentive, and made everyone feel very welcome. Highly recommend.
