Probably the best place we stayed on our Dales Way walk. Cosy pub with excellent beer. The food was exceptional both breakfast and dinner. The Sunday roast is a must. Clean and comfortable rooms. Very welcoming staff.
Visited here to eat (& drink). Great menu. Had steak & blue pie, steak & beetroot pie, Gammon & Barnsley chop- very good food, service & presentation. Lovely staff, ambience and beers on draught.. gorgeous Malbec. Highly recommend this really fabulous inn.

Now this is a real pub! Historical, charming, quaint, you can just breathe in the history! A fabulous English/ Yorkshire cultural experience. The bar staff were exceedingly friendly, Ed in particular knew our names within seconds. The Wensleydale real ale was exceptionally tasty and the food delicious, I enjoyed a Yorkshire pie, the pastry to die for. Coming here finished our holiday in North Yorkshire perfectly.
Had a wonderful stay here this past summer. The pub is beautifully located in a gorgeous part of the Dales and, inside, still remains as I remember it from decades ago - that is, it has not been subjected to some open plan modernization.
