Excellent food, Excellent service with good attention to detail. Would highly recommend
Friendly pub, we thought nicest in the village. Nice for a drink, indoors or out and has a very good restaurant. Comfortable rooms, we were inside the main building. There were some in outbuildings around the car park which would have been different. Car park is round the back and small but plenty of street parking available.
We had a one night stay last week after visiting York for the day. We had no expectations having no prior knowledge of the George. My wife Jo found it on the internet because we were accompanied by our little fur baby Winnie, and it's a dog friendly establishment, so we had one of the well appointed ground floor motel style rooms at the back of the pub, and had a great parking space as a result, which was literally bang outside the room.
