We had a fabulous meal at The George. My son's steak was perfectly cooked, my salmon with mussel and sweetcorn chowder was very tasty as was my husband's steak and ale pie (the only time he stopped talking, so I knew it was good!) The desserts STP and choclate mousse were excellant too. Service was friendly and attentive as always from all staff but a special shout out to John and Elijah.
1st visit to The George. A lovely quirky place. Very busy for a Monday night. Service was good and food piping hot and tasty. An enjoyable evening. Dog friendly.
Great food. But service quite bad and we also had a caterpillar in the broccoli... not the worst thing in the world. Very common. However, no one checked on us during the meal and everyone laughed about the catapiller but never even said sorry, offered new broccoli or offered a free drink in the meal. Call me crazy but a restaurant should do something about that right? Would have been 4 starts if the service was at least okay. Had to ask a couple times for another drink. Thankfully the food in general was great.
A superb hotel in the North Yorkshire town of Easingwold. Friendly service, superb food and beautiful, clean and comfortable rooms.
