As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

RecommendedGreat food and service. The view is incredible.
My parents came here on date night in the late 60's ... when the Chimayo whiskey made men strong as bulks in lovemaking (said so on the menu 😏) Now I am in my 60's, and still think The Fort has thw best steaks, best atmosphere, best stories. Huzzah!
Outstanding dinner! Didn’t have any appetizers, but the beef Filet mignon and dry aged ribeye were delicious the wine list is outstanding, and the creme brûlée with huckleberry preserves was simply the best we’ve ever had! Great service and atmosphere! Don’t wait, just make your reservation!
This has been our favorite restaurant for more than 20 years. The food, atmosphere and service are always excellent. Love the variety of their menu.

We had 6 adults and 3 children and our service was fabulous. Little pricey for children’s menu. Food was fantastic.
