As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

RecommendedAn authentic, early-American era experience and awesome food. Old-west ambiance, great cocktails and western fare. This place is great for out- of-town guests! A must-see, must-do for any newcomer to Colorado.
We had my 60th birthday celebration at The Fort. I lam a history re-enactor, and love Native American and Fur trade history so this was perfect. The atmosphere and decor was authentic. My wife had buffalo filet mignon and I had buffalo ribs. The food and the experience was great. We will be back again!

The service was great, food delicious, and the atmosphere was perfect. The owner came by to introduce herself and tell us about her restaurant. Just like eating with family without having to do the dishes!
