About this business

As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

An adventure The Fort is a unique restaurant for a special occasion or to treat out- o-f state friends or relatives The menu is so unusual that there is something for everyone. Everything is delicious and the desserts don't disappoint. Expect to pay for a fine dining experience, though.

Great Experience! I went to The Fort when I was visiting from out of town. The outside was impressive, and the story behind the building and the site are very interesting. They have an extensive menu that includes a number of game dishes which most restaurants don't offer. And if you're looking for a good drink they have plenty. They even make a drink with gun powder in it, it has a very strong kick to it so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who can't handle strong alcohol. The view is absolutely beautiful. Call ahead for re... read more

Still a Great Attraction What better way to show Colorado to your east-coast guests? The food is always good, but the setting -- looking down on Denver at night -- always gets them.

True Western Dining Experience! This is the place to bring your out of town visitors when looking for a unique Colorado experience! Their cuisine is excellent; the only complaint I have is that their dinnerware is blah -- they could find some other plates that have a more Western theme. The buffalo is to die for, my husband loves it with Green Chile sauce. The house salad with hints of ginger is scrumptiuos! The dessert menu is to die for! Yum!

Delicious! We got the bison prime rib and it was well worth it. The mash potatoes with red chilie gravy was my favorite. The peanut butter stuffed jalapeños are a must try! Very neat place.
