As a replica of Bent's Fort, it's a cultural crossroads on the historic Santa Fe Trail. This area institution, which has been reviewed in the New York Times, serves up southwestern fare to everyone from lounging locals to heads of state including President Clinton during 1997's economic summit. Scrumptious servings of buffalo and elk tantalize the tongue. More traditional fare like salmon, filet mignon and even a vegetarian plate is also available. Open Monday to Friday at 5:30pm and at 5:00pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

We just had our Thanksgiving dinner at The Fort!! It was awesome! The food was incredible, the service was amazing, and the atmosphere was fantastic! I would give it 10 stars if I could!!

The service was hands down the best I’ve ever experienced. Kevin was our waiter and he was simply outstanding. The rest of the staff rocked as well. I do think the food is a bit overpriced. I paid $42 for a piece of walleye. It was good but not astonishing- which I expected for the price.
