Located downtown near the University of Alabama-Birmingham and its medical center, the Fish Market is the cheapest and possibly the best seafood restaurant in Birmingham. The owners are from Greece, so the self-service dining area is decorated with Greek photos and artwork. There is a small grocery area and of course, a fish market. The food is fresh, and the portions large. Be prepared for a crowd at any given time; this place is an unbeatable value and that's a well-known fact.

RecommendedAmazing food, the staff was friendly and attentive. We had a large group but we were all served in a timely fashion. We will go back for sure

Shrimp Saganaki was FANTASTIC and the service was superb!!!
The FOOD WAS EXCELLENT...took my daughter and her family and the fell in love with the food also, this was their first visit.
Always enjoyed my meal but this past Fri. night I ordered something different. I had the stuffed Flounder. The stuffing was very dry as well as the fish. Will come back but Never order that again , Green Beans and Okra was good

I love the Fish Market but yesterday's experience was awful. The manager made me and my party move because someone else made reservations for patio dining. Although we had reservations, we were told, by the hostess, that we could sit there. We did move inside to the back dining area, which I HATE. The manager was extremely rude and smug when I told her how disappointed I was. I asked for the owner but he wasn't in.
