Located downtown near the University of Alabama-Birmingham and its medical center, the Fish Market is the cheapest and possibly the best seafood restaurant in Birmingham. The owners are from Greece, so the self-service dining area is decorated with Greek photos and artwork. There is a small grocery area and of course, a fish market. The food is fresh, and the portions large. Be prepared for a crowd at any given time; this place is an unbeatable value and that's a well-known fact.

RecommendedIt was our first time eating there and everything thing was great! We even checked the prices of their seafood market side and we will be back again!!
The food was excellent and the service (Apollo) was wonderful!!
We always visit when we have doctor's appointments and yesterday I took my Mom and I also had an appointment! We had the fried green tomatoes as an appetizer and jumbo shrimp as our entree! Yummy! Our waiter, Kevin, was wonderful and attentive! Thanks Kevin!
We waited 30 minutes for a table, which is ok, but after we were seated we didn't even talk to a waiter/waitress for another 30 minutes! Finally, ask a waitress where our waiter/waitress was, she checked then said you're welcome to sit in my section. We did and it was still another 45 minutes before we got our cold food!!

The food was great, service was a little slow but still excellent. Very lovely decorations and a live band! A great experience; I will definitely go back if I am in Birmingham again.

Great server last night!!! My Creole shrimp/rice was very good. Other 2's fried piles looked good too. They liked it!
