The owners are from Greece, so the self-service dining area is decorated with Greek photos and artwork. There is a small grocery area and of course, a fish market. The food is fresh, and the portions large. Be prepared for a crowd at any given time; this place is an unbeatable value and that's a well-known fact.

Joseph provided exceptional service! He is so good at what he does and knows how to please the customers! The food was outstanding! We had the baked oysters, catfish, whiting, okra, slaw and fries. The oysters stole the show! Love this place and Joseph made the experience the best!!!
The best seafood in Alabama! I've been eating at The Fishmarket for over 25 years and I've never had anything but great food and service. My wife and I had dinner there tonight and it was wonderful, our waitress was Marion Wamboi, great service with a beautiful smile!!!
Our staff came from Cincinnati for a work conference and stopped by The Fish Market. We had a large party and they seated us quickly and served us excellently! The food was great - I definitely recommend the fried green tomatoes! Katie & Blake were exceptional in making our meal a wonderful experience.
Joseph and Carlos helped to make our lunch experience very nice. I had the alligator sausage and chicken and it was superb. My father had the smoked salmon and it too was very good. We come here any time we are in the Birmingham area. I recommend The Fish Market to everyone.
The food was great as always. The chicken wings and clam chowder were awesome and the sweet corn was fresh. Katie was my waitress and she was phenomenal. She was so friendly and attentive gave me lots of suggestions checked on me all the time. I have frequented fish market for 10 years and she is by far and away the best waitress I have ever seen anywhere. You really need to give her a big raise!

Oh my!! Had dinner last night with great friends and KEVIN, our server, was AWESOME!! The best service I have had in a long time!! In country and out!! He's so knowledgable and spot on with everything !! One of the best dining experiences I've ever had!! ROCK ON KEVIN!!
