I had never heard of The Federal Bank as I haven't been back in the US for that long. I received a letter in the post re: refinancing and I did respond to see what they had to offer. I am so glad I did. I had checked out other offers from banks and even my original mortgage lender for the 2 duplexes I was refinancing, and they could not offer anything as attractive as what the Federal bank offers. I was sought out by this company to refinance my home back in 2/2020. Not shortly after signing with them they had already sold my mortgage to PHH without notifying me, though continued taking my payments. In June 2020 I received a past due statement from the ‘new’ mortgage company. Upon calling PHH they were able to advise me of what happened with my mortgage. The Federal Savings Bank have been calling me for the last few weeks despite me saying I already have a loan officer. Then James **** there VA Loan Guy continues to be rude and abrupt. I've told them several times I didn't want to waste their time or my own.

I had original gone to another banker to get a loan, but they had some issues with the insurance company and could't do it and was about to ask for a deny letter from them so that I can get my escrow money back. But prior to asking for my deny letter, I asked family and friends if they knew any bankers. My brother who just in April closed on his house gave me Hazem ***** number. (((((((((((( FRAUD ))))))))))) I am a Viet Nam veteran who sought to lower my interest rate through a mail solicitation from this bank. I called to find that I qualified and could refinance through them for a monthly payment that was about $300 dollars per month less than what I now pay. To get this started I was required to pay a $219 application fee. I applied, then circumstances quickly changed! Wouldn't return phone calls or email. Its ridiculous how they have an A+ rating on here. We are 800$ down the drain and have wasted 6 weeks of our time trying to refinance with them. I should have noticed the first red flag that the 1800$ charge on our loan assessment was a "refundable rate holding fee" whereas it showed up as a "points payment" on the actual document.
