Very disappointed with our stay at the lawns. We booked two best rooms with bath and were given one big and one tiny room. Very unfair for one of us. Beds not comfy and hard pillows. No milk in the room so you have to get it from the downstairs fridge, and mine was curdled by the morning as the rooms are so hot. Sunday dinner was OK but not very hot. I'm not one to complain, but for a 3 night stay we are not happy. Rooms could do with a refurb as they are a bit down at heel. Breakfast is nice though.
We came for my husband's 60th birthday with our family including our young granddaughter and dog! It was such a lovely meal and the staff could not have been friendlier or any more helpful. It was a great experience and one we hope to repeat when we are next in Holt!
This hotel/ inn in the centre of Holt has been extensively modernised and is vastly improved. Lovely dining and bedroom furniture, really comfortable bed (we chose a King room in the main building), lots of room space with great tea/ coffee facilities, storage and towels. The other thing that has really improved is the service. All the staff we came across on check-in, dining and breakfast were friendly, knowledgable and helpful.
