If there is zero star, I'll prefer that, the good thing is: the location is nice. But I have a bad experience, I booked a room for one day on Kayak and it was pre paid. When I checked in, they asked me my credit card( which is normal), but after checked out there is an unreasonable charge for $170 on my bank, I call them and they said I have to call The website I booked, and I figured out the charge is not from the site, and I call the hotel again, the front desk girl said I have to call Ortiz....while I was talking to the f... read more
Just had a wonderful stay at The Empire Hotel. The staff was sweet and accommodating (loved the doorman Chris) The room was clean and perfect for our family. Great location. We will be back. Happy Holidays.
My husband and i stayed there in October for a break. I had heard great things about this, and unfortunately we were left thoroughly disappointed. We were given a key to go to our room, which was the size of a broom cupboard. Of course we went and complained, at which point we got a different room. Now this in itself is not a problem, but when you amalgamate it with the fact they want to charge you for everything they place in your room-coffee, socks, plugs and wifi, which in my opinion should be free; it is one of the worst... read more
the rooms are so small and dark, that you need the light to see anything even at the day. the air condition was broken and the noise from the inner courtyard was so loud that it was very difficult to sleep. Never again!
Amazing location! The five stars go to the staff. The bartenders and doormen are wonderful, they take care of you like no other and give the best friendly service.
Great location and love having the huge Hotel Empire sign to get your bearings. Elevators didn't work, wi-fi didn't work, the air-conditioning was very uneven, the room was only moderately clean and it took forever to get the front desk or concierge to pick up the phone. In this price range, services should be far more effective. Will stay elsewhere next time.
This was my third stay at the Empire Hotel and likely my last. I booked the hotel for this trip via Priceline and was very pleased with the rate I received -- I thought I was getting a stellar deal since I (thought) I knew what to expect from this hotel. Love it!!!!
This place went down hill. We have been going here for over five years. 2-3 times each year. We stayed last night. The room was not ready when promised. Then the room was very dirty and the a/c sucked. We went to the free breakfast which was a rotten banana and two day old pastry. We heard a lot of people complaining about the same issues. And they had only 2 out of 4 elevators working. You can't even complain to the front desk because the line is so long and if you call it they put you on hold forever.
