We only stopped for a drink, but the food here looked really nice.
Stopped off here for lunch on our way home from our holiday. You get 1 hour free parking on the street outside which we thought would be more than enough time to order a sandwich. After 36 minutes of waiting I asked for it to be takeaway instead and was told “it’s just being plated now”. We would’ve loved to have stayed and eaten in the garden but couldn’t risk a ticket and quite frankly we were quite annoyed with how long the food was taking after seeing a couple arrive, order food and finish theirs before ours had even bee... read more
Decent overall. Charming building with a delightful back garden overlooked by one of the castles sacked during Owain Glyndwr’s masterful campaign. Room was clean and perfectly comfortable and had a great bathroom. I do agree with the other reviews that the lack of hot breakfast could be better communicated but equally understandable with the perfect storm that hospitality businesses are facing. Had a decent selection of beers following a long hike in the mountains. Staff were helpful enough
Went for Sunday lunch 2nd time because first time was amazing. Unfortunately this time was very disappointing. The food was only lukewarm warm, the roast potatoes were rock hard, no parsnips no purée and hardly any gravy. To add to that they wanted you to pay xtra £6 for veg !!!! On a Sunday lunch, shouldn’t that be standard. Won’t b back sorry
Stayed here overnight after a hike with my Son. Very clean room; comfy bed and nice duvet/pillows etc. - just the right temperature, too. I did have a good sleep 👍 Big, clean bathroom with modern fittings etc.; however, the electric "Triton" shower was *very* weak and due to what appears to be an attempt at a modern design (i.e. no markings to indicate the actual current or target temperature etc.) - it was nearly impossible to set to a comfortable temperature.
