I just go here to drink or dine. This place makes either option more than acceptable. Food quality is high. Same with the staff. Drink choices at the bar are great too. Wether you're a bitter or lager fan The Crown serves it with a smile.
The food we had was amazing, but, what spoilt it was the fact that we chose it as it advertised gluten free options. When we booked, we told them we had a gluten free requirement and was told no problem. I then phoned the morning of our visit to remind them . We had Sunday lunch, but no gluten free Yorkshire pudding or desserts offered apart from ice cream , very disappointed by this. Won't be going back .
Wonderful welcome from Cuban barman and he was most attentive but food below average and although cheery, the staff were pretty hopeless really. Just not trained properly - cutlery poor and not laid out properly, we had to get up and ask for things ourselves. Shame as won’t be going back despite excellent conkers from tree!
