I'm deeply disturbed by the multiple (5 in less than 2 years) cases of Boston Children's seeking custodial rights and accusing parents of medical abuse in the form of Munchausen by proxy (a syndrome where the parents either believe their child has an illness and are treating them for it or are physically inducing the illness themselves.) I would never trust taking my children to Bostons after these incidents. Mistakes I can overlook, but blaming the parents without solid evidence of abuse and then taking custody is inexcusab... read more

The actions of this hospital in regards to Justina Pelletier call into question the ability of this institution to follow the Hippocratic oath, the most basic tenet of healthcare providers the world over. First, do no harm. The deterioration of Justina's condition under the 'care' of doctors who deny the validity of Mitochondrial Disease is criminal. They are breaking their oath and need to have their licenses revoked. I will never set foot in this facility and my children never will either.

Thankful I do not live in Ma and will will never deal with BCH after reading the Justina Pelletier story. Every parent has the right to seek a second opinion. I can't even imagine what this poor girl is going through because of you and her parents as well! Shame on you!!

I am deeply concerned about the hospital and state action in the case of Justina Pelletier. Every person deserves the best care AND should always have the right to get a second opinion. The idea that the family AND the previous doctor have been cut out of the decision making process to do what is best for their daughter is wrong. I am truly appalled and so sad for the family. This needs to be fixed. BCH, you need to set aside your enormous ego in this matter and do what is right.

I hope that one day I never have to take my children to Boston Children's Hospital. For fear they might kidnap my child. Mainly because my daughter has working diagnoses of mitochondrial. I'm thankful that my children go to UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. I didn't know that disagreeing with doctors meant that you are guilty of child abuse. I do know the trauma Boston Children's Hospital causing is far more abusive to Justina Pelletier. I also know that Boston Children's Hospital Facebook cover page states "Until every chil... read more
