I hope what happened to Justina Pelletier never happens to your children. You should be ashamed of yourselves for not letting her get a second opinion. Did you even try to contact the doctor that diagnosed her in the first place? Probably not. I feel sick thinking about what this young girl has lost because of your arrogance.
I won't pretend to know the specifics of the Justina case, as I'm sure many of you commenting don't know all the details either, but BCH has saved my son's life multiple times, and will have to continue performing life-saving procedures on him year after year. I don't think you can truly determine if BCH is the right hospital for your loved one based on all of these reviews from people who have never had a patient there or have even stepped foot in the facility. As a nurse who has worked adolescent psych, a mother of numerous foster children, and a mother of adoptive children who suffer from mental health disorders I find this completely appauling. Not know what the full circumstance were that the hospital would even look for a different diagnosis. If this child was being medically abused I think that her former doctor, the former staff where procedures were done would have already called in the DCY.
