We have just returned from having spent a wonderful long weekend relaxing at the Bulkeley Hotel. This place oozes character and charm and has to be one of the best ‘dog friendly’ hotels that we have ever stayed at. We stayed is a basic inland room which was more than adequate for our needs, with a large bathroom and lots of storage space. We found all the staff, without exception, helpful and friendly. To top it all off the food was lovely too! We will definitely be coming back!
I hate leaving poor reviews however this is warranted Ive stayed here 2/3 times a year for 20 years As iam passing through on my way to Ireland with my dog I thought id go here for something to eat Asked the bars staff if they were serving food yes go ahead into the bar went to order you have to wait till 6pm so thought id wait got to 6pm you have to wait till 8 pm Other people were been served and eating however i Got the feeling of not been welcomed and wanting me to leave spoke directly to the owner who put his hands on h... read more

We stayed 29/30 August 25 - will definitely return. Extremely lovely staff in Reception & Restaurant all approachable & so pleasant to talk to. In particular thanks to John undertaking night security who kept checking on me in the early hours when I came down to read a book in the lounge area. So kind.
