Yes, you have to book if you want to eat here… but there’s a reason why - the food is good honest pub food that’s home cooked at reasonable prices, friendly local staff & a great atmosphere at this family run pub. See you again in 2026!
Excellent, no frills English pub - not tarted up by a brewery chain and with good quality decent, home cooked food. V busy I'm season though so book ahead...
We had a lovely meal, on the eve of my 4 year olds 5th birthday, Bursting with excitement he wanted to tell the waitress it was his birthday tomorrow. he had the gammon his favourite. I had a lovely steak and the Stilton sauce was amazing.. The Service was super friendly and they couldn’t do enough for us. They also Very kindly gave my little one a cup cake and ice cream with a candle on it made his night. Will definitely dine here again when we’re next in the area.
What a little gem! We thought we knew Wells but we dropped in here on the basis of it being dog friendly (3 dogs), accessible (wheelchair), and good reviews, on Friday 15th August for dinner after a day trip, expecting everywhere to be busy. Somehow we managed to park right outside as well to unload us all too. It was indeed busy but we were seated in the beer garden, where they don't normally serve food but offered to make an exception. Went here for dinner and absolutely incredible food and overall experience. Fav dishes were spring rolls, steak cobbler and sticky toffee pudding. The staff were all super kind as well. :)
