We booked in to stay here as a party of 9 in 6 rooms from Thursday to Monday (4 nights), this was booked in September 2024, plenty of time for them to get it right. On the Saturday morning our lead guy received a call saying that the hotel had double booked, and we would have to leave, they said we only booked 2 nights, and that we had to abandon our plans and make our way back to the hotel to sort this out. Called in for dinner off spec. Had a great meal, hot & cooked fresh. Nice local pub with great food & atmosphere. Don't forget to register your parking if in the car park

I met a friend today for an early lunch at the Angel in Corbridge, where we went for the classics -fish and chips and a burger. I don't usually have burgers (they're not part of my eating routine), but l'd been quietly looking forward to this one. And it didn't disappoint me: juicy beef, a good dose of flavour and the gherkins pulling their weight. Afterwards, I felt rather like those travellers of old, arriving weary at the posting inn and finding themselves well looked after.
