Not worth your time – Taverna Plaka had come highly recommended and was a great disappointment. The food is average, the atmosphere bland, and the service staff awful. They sell the restaurant with the fun funky atmosphere but they kick you out to refill your seats with more customers the second you pay the bill. For a welcoming and fun environment with great food try Istanbul Cafe, it's great!!

Lively and Greek – I went to Taverna Plaka with about 25 highschool friends one night. Reservations went smoothely and we were promptly seated. The atmosphere is lively, featuring belly dancers and Greek versions of current American pop music. While it can seem a little tacky at first, it's still fun. The food was great and before long, all 25 of us were up dancing on tables.

Opa! – This place is great. Reviews I had read are wrong about the food. THe food was amazing and such a great value. The belly dancers and wait staff were quite entertaining. This is a perfect place for a group outing.

Poor Management/Service – Never before have I seen such poor management and customer service. We were told our wait would be 1.5 hours. After 2 hours we started to question the staff. When speaking to a manager he informed us that he lies to patrons to get them to stay and that we also would not be in the area we had requested. He had no respect for our business and executed poor management style.

Terrible – DO NOT EAT HERE! SAVE YOUR $$! This is one of the cheesiest restaurants in town. Skanky belly dancers dancing to 90's pop music with people tipping them $ bills like they were strippers? C'mon, I know the restaurant is on Cheshire Bridge, but I thought it was completely tasteless. The food is nothing special if you've eaten Greek food before. One of a Kind – Who'd a thought a Greek place on Cheshire would ever have 2 hour waits on a Saturday? But step inside and you'll see why - it's a big party with funky takes on traditional music, mass napkin drops from the ceiling and a great energy and vibe. The best part is, with all this, the food still stacks up. Had a delicious meal featuring lamb and chicken and other goodies. Big Fat Greek PARTY !!! – The previous reviewer is an imbecile who knows nothing of Greece or Greek culture! I have dreamed of such a place in Atlanta for years! Taverna Plaka IS NOT a restaurant, it is a TAVERNA! i.e. where one eats, drinks, enjoys GREAT Greek and Middle Eastern-Mediterranean music, dances and parties with friends! It is supposed to be loud! The food is authentic Greek 'taverna' food, simple; not fancy restaurant food. I love it! The place to go if you want good Greek food, music and PARTY! OPA!
