In love with their porcini (or shiitaki) gruyere croque-monsieur. And the coconut cream pie.
The bread comes out fresh at 5pm every day. Get it while it's hot!
Guilty pleasures. This bakery is an institution in SF, the baguettes are awesome!
The whole-wheat sourdough bread is a nice balance of tangy and yeasty. The rustic country bread is addictively chewy, with large, irregular air pockets and a structured, flavorful crust.
Everything is good here. For breakfast I like the almond croissants, chocolate croissants and morning buns. All the croques and sandwiches are also delicious.
Come early (opens at 7:30) for no lines. Then get the morning bun and almond croissant. Then fruit tart and plain croissant. I await the day I can come after 5 for a loaf of olive bread
