Worth the wait
The bread is great, but the real hits are their sandwiches.
The morning bun is great, frangipani croissants, coconut tart, coffee... Everything's delicious, but the place itself is crowded and not so well decorated ;)

The croque monsieur is entirely average. In fact, I don't get the hype.

While the basic concept is simple, the perfect pain au chocolat is a work of art, and Tartine's version is so popular that the bakery sells 400 of them each day.
We lovingly refer to Chad Robertson as The Bread Whisperer because no one makes better bread. In. The. Universe. His croissant is like no other.
