Less than one star if I could. I just changed to another supplier that charges more than a $1.00/gal less. I’ve been a customer of Amerigas for over six years and when my called them to have the oils tank pumped out and removed they informed me they would be there sometime in thirty days and that I would not be credited for the gas pumped out which is about 275 gallons at $2.99/ gal. They also charge about $150 to pump out this gas and another $150 because I stop before contract was up and $50 to pick up their tank. STAY AWA... read more

I should have read the complaints prior to calling the local Amerigas office. It's amazing how similar my brief experience was with the so called customer service person. It was very difficult to speak because she was always talking over me. Very rude. My complaint stems from rental fees that they seem to charge me when they feel like it. I've had a 330 gallon tank for years and never received a rental fee invoice. Two years ago I get one, I complained and was told it was policy and I should have been charged prior. They dont deserve a star....They are greedy and despicable. They price gouge the product then overnight added 30.00 in bogus fees and charged me and additional 120.00 rental fee on a tank that ive had for 33 years. The tank fee is 100% profit; despicable. I suspect the additional 4 separate charges are also pure profit. They are trying to emulate cable and cell phone companies. They add multiple bogus line item charges that represents 100% profit. This company is the absolute worst Propane company I have ever dealt with. I imagine that Amerigas as a whole could not possibly be as bad as the South Barre, Vermont office. Customer service will literally argue with you about wanting to speak to a supervisor or a manager. They will tell you flat out that they do not conform to the policies of the company and they do not follow through with their promises. If you request somebody to return your call, they don't. less than one star. This is the most deceptive company that I have ever dealt with. I had Amerigas install a a Rinnai tankless hot water heater. The company they used was sub-par at best. The heater was installed incorrectly which caused the heater to wear out prematurely. According to a Certified Plumber that I had come out and check it, my wife and I were lucky to be alive because Amerigas never vented it to go outside, all the gas fumes collected in the attic. Less than one star ...Well, I am filing an official complaint with the BBB regarding much of the same as I read in the previous reviews. Sad to see a company does not care about its customers. I wonder how a class action law suit would do??

I'd give them 0 stars if I could. Worst customer service ever.... We've been in conversation with 2 "managers"??? who, since they know they have no contract with us to stand on, just stop responding to us. Meanwhile we keep piling up late fees for a bill they have no right to charge us. Literally, NO ONE will even speak to us from the company.

Speaking with the office staff Debra is exhausting due to she never allows you to speak she always speaks over top of you. If you request to have the Manager Matt Greene give you a call he never does. Then if you request to go over the billing due to the online invoice does not match what is being advised of the office it is TERRIBLE.
