Hi my mum was there 2003 i have nothing but ptaise for the care and compastion from the nursing staff there all the way up to her passing big thank you too you all

My mother spent one week at Sue Ryder Hospice, and we stayed there with her. It was the first place where I was not afraid to leave my mum overnight, because I knew she would be cared for in the best possible way. After four very difficult weeks in hospital, my sister and I were finally able to sleep peacefully, knowing that our mum was safe and well looked after. New management have, this year, sadly destroyed what was once a fabulous hospice. Most of the qualified staff have left and now runs on mainly agency nursing staff with little experience. No family support team or social work support. See their recent CQC report, rated ‘inadequate’ and currently in special measures. So sad …………….

My husband was in Wheatfields originally for some pain management. It was quite clear after 24 hours he would not be coming back home. The staff and the care they gave him was amazing. Nothing was too much to ask. They cared for him and supported us as a family. I will always be grateful that they made his last few days pain free and comfortable. All the staff went above and beyond and as a family we can not thank them enough.
