Great for 2 or for the family – We have been there several times and I have yet to have anything I didn't like. The crab dip and bisque are great for starters, the steaks are tender and cooked as ordered. But for me the fish items are the best, horseradish encrusted grouper and seamse trout are the two best. Dessert is excellant, and even the rolls are sweet enough that they could pass for a dessert. My Wife and I have gone there for special days, and we have taken family and friends for an early dinner. My little girl is 5 ... read more

Neat Atmosphere OK Food – My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant last weekend. For the price the wine list was adequete but not grand. For the both of us it was $57 for entrees and 2 glasses of wine. It's a bit over priced for the food you get. Large portions but a little on the heavy side. I had the Grouper (so/so) he had the Rowdy cowboy steak (very fatty). We prefer Montana's for price and flavor.

Sure musta got better . . . . – The steak was excellent; tender, flavorful and perfectly cooked. If it was seasoned in the least, I couldn't detect it. As good a steak as I can ever remember eating. The ambience is boy's-clubbish and cozy; leather-upholstered and dimly lit. The wine list was too trendy for my taste. Too many Merlots, not enough Bordeauxs and not a single Chateau Neuf. Our waiter was a bit inexperienced for a resturant of this caliber. He wasn't bad, just unseasoned (perhaps better suited to Longhorn's than t... read more

Prestigious/pricey/Fine Food – Stoney River, one of three O'Charley's concept chains ;has now found Middle Tennessee. Food is supurb, service exemplary, menu choices arguably varied, price, a little ritzy. The Lobster is delicious but pricey, the steaks are large and cooked to perfection, the deserts are divine. Atmosphere ecclectic. I highly recommend this establishment for those occassions when you are making an impression on a new friend, business associate, or just feeling expansive. Dinner for two with one cocktail $70.... read more

Mouthwatering – The dinner was absolutely wonderful, service was great and it is nice to have another quality restaurant in Franklin. The Salad, Rolls, Steak and.......everything on my plate was absolutely wonderful. I am sure the dessert would have been good....but the rolls were too good to leave room.

long wait, unorganized staff, ok food – Our hour and fifteen minute wait time turned into two hours after being promised repeatedly every 5-10 minutes our table was ready. Turned out the owner gave our table away without telling the hostess. I don't think this place will be in business for very long due to the poor customer service and overpriced mediocre food.

Now THAT'S a good steak – This new chain, owned by O'Charley's, is a definite step up from it's big brother. The decor is very Northern backwoods (think Sportsman's Lodge), the service was a little under par (but they have only been open a short while), and the prices are higher than I would have expected for this locale. BUT......... what a GREAT steak! I'm talking approaching Ruth's Chris quality, Midwestern grain fed Black Angus, done perfectly to order. The sides were great, too! A great place for a special night out.

Great new place! – If Stoney River took reservations and wasn't located near a mall, it would be pretty darn close to perfect. My husband and I arrived at 9:45 on a Saturday night, unsure of what to expect, and glad we didn't have to wait. Although a little surprised by the prices (having expected something more like Outback, less like Ruth's Chris), we were very anxious to try it out. Most everything was great, namely the filet, which was quite possibly the best I'd ever eaten. Contrary to what the other reviewer said, I di... read more

Swimming Upstream on the Stoney River – Located in the footprint of the former multiplex, Stoney River emphasizes its steaks. Well they should. They were well aged and tender but the meat's flavor was hidden by the house seasoning. What they should push are the sides. Skip the fries; go for the cameralized onion or garlic mashed potatoes. But don't count on service. The salads were very late and arrived without bread. The entrees came immediately after the salads. (Still the server kept trying to take the salad plates - ther... read more
