Great food and exceptional service for a large event! – We hosted a rehearsal dinner at Stella's for approx 55 guests. The event planner was very helpful in the planning and preparation for our dinner. She responded quickly to phone calls & e-mails and we could not have been more pleased with her assistance. Expensive, poor service, good food but small quantities – This is the second review I've done because someone removed the other one. We went on July 6, a Friday afternoon, around 1:30. We ordered our food and it took almost an hour to get two dinners and the place was not busy. Our server was friendly but unattentive. I was just getting ready to leave when she brought our food. Delicious salmon and lemon-basil sauce – I thought the atmosphere and service were great, but the fish was outstanding. I had fresh salmon with a lemon-basil sauce that was SO delicious. We also really enjoyed the crab-stuffed mushroom.
expensive for what you get, service needs to be a bit more professional and not so bohemian – the food is good. the service was good too. but what bothered me was that the servers are dressed in t-shirts and lean on your table when they're talking to you. a little too laid-back for the prices of the food you're about to order. i mean, i expect a little more courtesy and manners when it comes to being served and talked to if i'm buying dinner for a client or a friend. but the way the servers come off is trying to be your frie... read more
I went to Stellas for the first time this past weekend and was not overly impressed. We got a table fast but the service was so slow. After we finally had gotten our food it was average at best. I could have gotten the same thing from the vendor on the corner but for ALOT cheaper. I don't think I will ever need to go back.
Pretty good. – Good seafood - nice atmosphere for a casual place and I LOVED the desserts. Deconstructed Banana cream pie and a giant slab of red velvet cake. What's not to love?
Superb Service and Savory Flavors – Stella?s Fish Cafe is an Uptown gem with an open, friendly atmosphere. They have multiple happy hour segments each day with 2-for-1 bevs & special happy hour menu foods that are quick, low-cost, and tasty! Seafood anything but stellar – Our service was good--we were seated promptly and our server was friendly. We ordered the ahi tuna appetizer. Great ponzu sauce but the tuna was bland and not sushi quality. Our Crab Louis could've come from Starkist. The scallops my husband ordered were tough with a weird, rubbery coating on the outside. Great view! – Stella's rooftop patio is the place to be when the weather is good - and it has a fabulous view of the city. Food here is a little pricey for dinner, but I highly recommend the shrimp po boy sandwich for lunch the day after a long night out!
