Great place to take the family or have a wedding. We were there for a wedding and it was very nice. Great restaurant. Rooms were very clean, but a little dark.

Stayed at the Starved Rock Lodge in May 2018 with my family. We ate in the main dining room for dinner and part of my family's meals were cold. Baked potatoes tasted like they were just reheated and cooked hours ago. Overall, the food was just average and nothing to ride home about. We had booked 2 separate rooms during our stay. When we showed up to check in, we were told our rooms were not ready. Great lodge and I have to say the food at the lodge is superb, the only areas that need improving is to have a safe in the room for valuables and better beds. These beds must be 30 years old. When you are exhausted from a day of hiking you want to sleep on a nice bed, other than that I would defiantly be back. The lodge is nestled right in the heart of all the hiking trails and are easy to get to.

Great vistas and challenging hikes. Dad took me here 40 years ago. Nice to get back.

We had our wedding in April 2018 & it was the perfect venue for us. The views & pictures it captured was breath taking! From the park waterfalls, to the wood carved art to the beautiful lodge - very nice. The staff was incredibly friendly & very accommodating for us & our family/Friends. They really have the weddings down to a science - I received so many compliments for food & OH THE CAKE (we used Moe from the lodge)...I heard so many compliments about all of it! We used their recommended businesses for our DJ, Officiant, F... read more
