We stayed for 2 nights. One night in cabin and one in hotel. Our stay was excellent. Cabin was as expected and bathrooms were clean. Rooms were the same. The best part of our stay was the kindness of the staff. The cafe was nice. The restaurant was excellent. Quick service and good food. The pool was large w a kiddie pool and large hot tub. We also forgot a bag. They called within 2 hours and are shipping it to us. Ty so much. We will be back!

It was a ridiculously attempt at service in the back door lounge ! Sat at dirty table to start because all 5 other tables were dirty and empty. After sitting and waiting for a menu Sadie came offer to take our order , then it went south . Onion rings came out and our drinks .. then Sadie went into stealth mode. Wonderful place to have a wedding. Good food, breath taking views.
Loved the scenary...great food...cozy! I was a speaker for a conference there...the rooms were Great! The Banquet STAFF ...were exceptional!
I visit Starved Rock at least twice a year, have something to eat at the lodge, and love it. Today was a different story. I took my 82 year old mother-in-law to see eagles, and then to the bar to introduce her to one of our favorites—Gorgonzola nachos. The park was very busy, and hence the bar was full. The dining room had wait staff and people eating and plenty of empty tables. I asked a waitress if we just seat ourselves, and she told me go the desk, and the lady there would seat us.
