well we've been sitting in the ER since 9am and have only seen 2 doctors and multiple nurses who never seem to know who they are treating (my dad is on blood thinners and they have all tried to put a blood pressure cuff over his IV) and then call security when we had the audacity to be frustrated by it. the best part is this literally could have all been avoided if the ER doctor he saw Sunday wasn't so convinced he was just there for pain medicine and actually listened when my dad stated it was a circulation problem. guess y... read more
RecommendedI was transported to St. Vincent from a hospital closer to where I live, and I am so glad I was transferred! The care I received was definitely top notch, and the nurse I had was absolutely amazing. I explained to her my fear of needles, since I am a Riley kid and have been in and out of hospitals since I was born. She was so patient and understanding, and I really felt at peace knowing that she would take great care of me since I am also terrified of being in the hospital. I live a little over an hour away from here. I have been coming up to this hospital since I was diagnosed with crohn's back in 1990. People ask me way I drive all the way up here when there are several hospitals closer. Well here it is for everyone to see. The treatment you receive here is the best. I was satisfied with our inpatient experience at St. Vincent's. Unfortunately our follow up at Transition Care Clinic was awful. My brother was 52 had a new diagnosis of CHF and in my opinion mismanaged. He ended up being readmitted within 10 days of discharge due to this mismanagement. Again inpatient experience was descent. Then mismanaged as outpatient and headed back to ER 2 days after seeing Cardiologist and asking him multiple times if he was safe for my brother to go home. While the care my husband received was top notch, and the Doctors were wonderful, beware St Vincent does not recognize nor do they keep Powers of Atty in the patients record. Therefore, the POA you gave them at registration is worthless because those that need to see it do not have access to it. Do not count on legal documents to protect your loved ones at the St. Vincent Indiana system.
I am currently addmitted to this hospital. I have never had an experience like this at any hospital, and unfortunately I have had to visit many hospitals in my life. The staff at this hospital is one of a kind! From the Doctors, nurses, techs, chefs, to even the cleaning people here. You can tell they all love their jobs, and truly care for their patients. Not a complaint about the hospital, but I guess their doctors are a direct reflection of them so, Dr. Maysa Ridha, WOSRT experience with a doctor I’ve ever had. Not only was the office staff rude, but the doctor threw a completely tantrum over the phone and terminated my care with her after promising she would help me. Now I am left with no doctor and I’m still sick. It’s sad when a doctors ego is to big to help patients.

You've lost my mom. She was transported from your hospital to another where she has not arrived!! 3 hour drive turned into 5?? No info on the transport that took her??? When I called, I get blown off by the night nurse who was basically like not my job, that was day shift??? Currently livid, scared, and worried. Fix this!
