My mum donated items to this store recently but was met by a very rude member of staff who told her to take a perfectly good item away claiming it was broken when it wasn’t. My mother has now said she will never donate to this store again as she does not want to be met this particular member of staff and her ungrateful and judgemental attitude.
Bought an aftermarket car stereo that didn't work. Went back the following day to return the item, only to be told in a matter of words that I was lying, hadn't bought the item from Downend's store and that they don't stock electricals, and then proceeding to say that the price label was a batch from months ago. I was given a credit note, but not refunded my money. Won't be shopping here again!
Always find something!
Small charity shop, they take donations at the back and never forget to ask if you want to Gift Aid.
Found some great things in here and staff are always lovely.
