Called to speak with a nurse because the condition I'm dealing with is just getting worse so I wanted to know if that sometimes happens or if I should give the antibiotics more time or even come back that isn't normal. She told me "all I can say is if you feel like you need to come back to be seen again we are always here. Sorry I couldn't help further." Very upsetting as I was just asking for some advice/guidance as to what I should do.
St Elizabeth and their monopolized health care has made patient care and their health secondary to the systems profits. It seems it's an inconvenience to speak with a patient and when they do find time they speak with you in a condescending tone. This is from the administration, care team and the Dr's. Apparently the patient is solely responsible for their own care.
More about our system in general. I have acid reflux, only take one prescription period and it's like pulling teeth. Have called the Office in Alexandria 5 times in the last two weeks, have updated my phone number every time and still cannot get through their automated system. Finally get the rx called in and it's only for 7 days? Called yet again and no one took the time to tell me I needed to make an appointment in order to get a full prescription. It's glorified Tums!
