I still took my Mom in her upper 80’s to visit my sister in Cadillac, Michigan. We took the Ferry many times because it was less stressful to drive her 2 hrs to Manitowoc, and then only drive 1 1/2 hrs on the Michigan side to Cadillac. She loved the feeling of being on this “cruise”! She loved to play bingo, listen to the music, go up on the upper deck when she was able, find something fun to eat & drink, watch a movie, watch TV, and especially look out onto the water! She was always so excited to see Ludington come into vie... read more

We took a round trip on the SS Badger, even getting a sleeper room, as we had a little one with us. Ate breakfast at the buffet and loved the entire trip. Very nice and relaxing.

Haven't taken a crossing trip in a couple of years, but always found the ride both ways to be very pleasant. Started using the Badger to save many hours and miles of driving between our home in central MI to Rochester, MN. We would leave home in the morning about 5am, drive to Ludington to catch the ferry around 8am, board the ship, have a leisurely breakfast aboard, arrive in WI, and then motor the rest of the way to Rochester, arriving in time for dinner. So much more comfortable and restful than driving southerly through ... read more

Went on this several years ago. It was a real treat! Relaxing way to get to the other side without fighting the traffic thru Chicago.

Always a wonderful time. I drive from MN to MI. Takes the stress out of driving around Chicago- feet up, book in hand. Snooze a little. Watch the Water go by. Play a little Bingo if you choose. A GREAT way to travel. I’m already looking forward to my next trip.

We were actually headed up to Door County when we stopped in Manitowoc for lunch and saw the S.S. Badger at the shore. I inquired about it at the restaurant and found out that it was not only a car ferry but, it was leaving in about an hour. My daughter and I decided to board the boat. A spontaneous change in plans sparked one of our favorite vacations. We have loved our trips on the S.S. Badger!
