Save yourself the headache and book somewhere else. Sonder's apartments are poorly maintained and their customer service is non-existent. During a recent 3-day stay, our group of eight experienced numerous issues. One apartment had a rotten smell, and we had to lug our luggage up two flights of stairs since it wasn't accessible by the elevator. You can hear and feel every single car passing by all night—it’s basically impossible to sleep. On top of that, customer service was useless: one agent said an issue could be fixed, another said the opposite. Between the noise, the incompetence, and the overall hassle, I’d strongly warn anyone against booking this place.
Recently completed a 3 night stay here with a 1 bedroom unit facing the garden side. Be warned that this hotel does not come with AC, the windows can be opened slightly to let cooler air in but if the temperature is high or if you have a room on the street side it might be very noisy. Garden side is very quiet and nice scenery. Check in is very smooth, access codes given before hand and able to check in after hours no problem. We had a great time as a family in a two bedroom suite!
CREEPY!!!! Horrendous moldy smell. We had the misfortune of spending 5 nights at the Sonder Royal Garden Apartments in Edinburgh. The 4.6 star reviews clearly pertain to the apartments on the upper levels. After taking the elevator down 1 floor we then embarked on the dark labyrinth to descend an entire flight of steps into the DARK mold-smelling ground floor/basement.
