Spent 1 night here on swc300 trip. The room we stayed in had just been renovated and was beautifully done. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. The food was excellent and portion sizes ample. The whole atmosphere was relaxing and homely. An enjoyable experience on the whole.

Review of The Somerton Hotel- RUDE AND AGGRESIVE STAFF. We stayed at the Somerton Hotel in Lockerbie and unfortunately had a very upsetting experience with the staff. When booking, my wife accidentally selected a single occupancy instead of double. She immediately sent a message via Booking.com to clarify and was told there would be no additional charge. Midway stop on the way to the Highlands with our dogs we could not have made a better choice. Soulless chains move over!! A beautiful building with traditional deco . The room was lovely and clean and very comfy. Had the evening meal which was a delight . I had a ginger pudding to die for!!!!! The staff were very welcoming and offered great service.This hotel is a gem !!!

A comfortable hotel in a beautiful building. Great situation near the motorway but without the noise. Comfortable rooms, competent staff and good food (an excellent Eton mess among other good dishes.) It was our second stay and we were not disappointed.
