If you have an issue they will not return your phone calls, they will not return your emails. When you go in there to talk to them the customer service reps are no help at all, very flippant...and if you try to reach somebody in management forget about it you’re not going to get a response-But they sure are real good at taking your money when you pay for your slip and your winter storage.
I'm not sure what's worse their customer service or their actual workmanship. We've had the boat less than 1 year. When they store your boat and you purchase an oil change they have a 21 point checklist which apparently they don't follow. Included in their 21 point checklist is ensuring that the bellows are in proper working order. Apparently they don't really check the bellows as our boat sunk at the dock this weekend. according to our mechanic the bellows on the boat are the originals which means they were 13 years old. Smith boys Chautauqua is the worst boat dealer I have ever had the displeasure to work with. Purchasing the boat was nothing but one mistake after another by the salesman. Had to redo the paperwork three times and because of this I had to wait two weeks to take possession of a boat that was literally sitting in the showroom. Recently had an issue that needed repaired and it was an even worse experience. Dropped my boat off on the day they requested and it took them almost two weeks to even look at it. I just paid Smith Boys Marine $1,600.00 to fix a leak on my boat. The service manager told me that they DO NOT test the boat for leaks after the work has been completed. I also paid them to store my boat for the year. The service manager states he will have to now charge me to test the boat to see if their repair that I've paid for worked... hmmm.. help me out guys.. is this normal?

Chris Potter and the team at the Conesus lake location have been nothing short of spectacular to me! I purchased a used boat from them in consignment and through all the kinks (seller lost title to the trailer) they provided me with the best service I could ask for. Providing me with dry storage and launching the boat for me whenever I wanted to use it since I couldn't trailer the boat home on their dime! awesome experience i would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for service/ buying a boat from them.
