Had a E-mail from Tom the day before we were due to arrive saying that he had no telephone landline and couldn't make arrangements when we got to Invergarry to collect us by boat, and could we walk in. Weather was bad, with wind and rain and very wet underfoot, but when arriving dripping wet, Tom made us very welcome and coffee and cake was soon produced. Remote and beautiful on the edge of the loch. No internet, no TV, no electricity (but hot water), great food (thank you Tom) and what a landscape. We walked and walked and saw hardly anyone where ever we went.
We'd been wanting to stay here for several years - and it did not disappoint. We spent three nights here, walked miles along routes picked out for us by Tom, ate amazingly, and relished the wildness of the scenery and its remoteness. The lack of electricity and internet signal was no problem - it enhanced the experience as did the fire and oil lamps. As other's have said, Tom's cooking is wonderful. We all had a fabulous time.
