My brother-in-law was in both the er and icy last week. Nothing but good things to say about Silver Cross. He had the flu and a systemic infection. Since he is a transplant patient he is immune compromised and was really sick. Silver Cross stabilized him for transportation to Christ Hospital, where the transplant was performed. He stayed in an icu room for several hours until a bed became available at Christ. The staff was very attentive and always had time to explain things to us lay people. My elderly mother, who has a serious autoimmune disease, was transported by ambulance to the ER because of her health condition. With no regard for her immunocompromised state, she was put in a wheelchair and parked in the lobby with all the sickness and germs, etc. by the doors with no blanket over her open-backed gown. Three hours later she was still there, with no hope of being seen or even given a place to lie down. The staff was absolutely callous to her needs, and offered no assistance or comfort. Yesterday, 10/5/17, I visited the ER in the early morning for a GERD attack. I have to give props to the ER dept, the respiratory dept, the xray dept, the front desk, for an all around smooth and stress-free visit. I have never met a NICER group of folks in a medical setting in my life (and I've worked in medicine for 30 years). From my nurse, Nikki, to my doctor, Dr. Georges F. (cannot remember the spelling), and everyone in between - THANK YOU for the wonderful treatment from beginning to end - always with a smile and a ge... read more
